Tenerife offers different types of beaches able to satisfy any visitor! Black sand beaches dominate the scene, although there are some golden beaches mainly created with Sahara sand. In the higher season, the most famous beaches will be crowded, but there is a bunch of more secluded coves that can be reached in several ways.

El Teide is a 3718 meters high volcano located almost in the center of the island. It is surrounded by a national park recently inscribed under the list of UNESCO sites. Once the car parking is reached at 2200m, visitors can either take the cable lift to 3550m or hike. From there to the summit, a special free permit is required to climb.

Tourism is the primary source of economy in Tenerife and Siam Park is a perfect example of tourism oriented investments. The park, built in Thai style, is considered one of the best in the world due to the numbers of rides and its several records, including the highest man-made waves (3m) in the world.

Tenerife is blessed with a pleasant climate warm all year round and its sub-tropical waters are just perfect to be explored any time of the year. Underwater, massive volcanic rock formations and rich marine life can be easily explored by scuba divers thanks to the massive presence of dive centers on land.

The Piramide de Arona is a huge auditorium featuring a 350 square meters stage. The Piramide is constantly renovated and it is currently equipped with striking audiovisual media. Shows take place during the evening and are mainly centered on Latin dances, especially Flamenco.

The Botanical Gardens of Tenerife are famous for holding Europe’s biggest collection of palms. The Gardens are divided into biogeographical sections from all over the world along with waterfalls and streams.

Tenerife has really few drawbacks with the most common one being its partial loss of identity due to massive tourism. For a taste of real Spain, heading to Garachico can be a genuine experience far from tourist traps. For the less skilled swimmers, swimming in natural pools formed by lava is very safe, far from the hazards of the Atlantic Ocean.

Canarian waters are incredibly rich with dolphins and whales: both migratory species and resident species are commonly seen all year round. Organized boat tours bring tourists close to these giants of the sea to entertain adults and children.

Going to Tenerife in February is a fantastic idea because tourists get the chance to join over 200,000 people dancing on the streets for the carnival of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, which is the second largest in the world after the one in Rio de Janerio!

The road leading to Punta de Teno is absolutely not for the faint of heart, but the brave ones who drive up there are rewarded with breathtaking views of the ocean and volcanic rocks. Hikers will absolutely love this cape and, on a clear day, they will manage to spot La Gomera and La Palma islands.
