Commonly nicknamed “La Seu”, Palma’s gothic cathedral is an astonishing work of art which construction lasted more than 300 years and that was restored in the last century with the co-operation of Gaudi. The interiors are magnificent and feature one of the largest rose windows in the world. The building itself is probably best seen from the city walls.

The Soller Railway will let you experience an incredible journey across time and space on one of the best preserved train routes in Europe. The line connects Palma with Soller and it was inaugurated in 1912; since that year, the train has been running daily without a single day of interruption. Aside from the absolutely awe-inspiring journey across beautiful landscapes, you will have the chance to ride in authentic old carriages.

Bellver is a castle located close to Palma and it is best known for its unusual, circular shape. Once used either as fortification or military prison, this gothic-style gem stands now as one of the most prominent touristic attractions in Majorca and the relatively cheap tickets required to visit it just add value to this 14th century attraction.

Most people choose Majorca as a touristic destination mainly thanks to the attractive, family-friendly and well-equipped beaches this island offers. However, some secluded coves known mainly by locals exist as well; these are mainly seen by car (there are several multiple car rental locations on the island).

This museum is rich with paintings, drawings and sculptures of the famous Catalan artist Joan Miro. One of the most impressive features of the foundation is his studio, which looks as if the artist had just left.

Located close to Palma Cathedral, Almudaina is a royal palace that represents another important landmark of Majorca and it boosts a rich history that dates back to the 14th century, when the palace was built on a former Moorish citadel.

Cap de Formentor represents the most interesting and dramatic tip of Majorca, featuring stunning cliffs as tall as 400 m jutting into the sea, typical Balearic vegetation and secluded sandy beaches. On a clear day, it is possible to see the island of Menorca from the lighthouse.

Majorca is blessed with several unique natural wonders and the Caves of Drach surely rank among its most famous landmarks. These caves are extensively well lit, so walking through stalactites and stalagmites becomes a beautiful (and safe) experience. Make sure to get across the underground lake by boat, where four talented musicians play classical pieces.
