Amsterdam in August is when it is mostly sunny, the skies are a light blue, temperatures rise up to 25° Celsius, and it gets dark only around 10pm. This is one of the months when Amsterdam’s beauty can be appreciated in full, especially on a boat during the Canal Festival, when there are various performances and concerts taking place on boats or bridges in the middle of the historical canals. Most locals try to leave Amsterdam in August, especially on the weekends, and escape to the beaches, located just a 30 min train ride away, along the coast.
